Valletta & Floriana
Malta’s capital has the bulk of the islands’ main historical sights, and an urban fabric little changed from the original. It’s small enough to walk, and its prime sights can occupy a brisk morning of sightseeing.

The 3 Cities
Intimately linked with the Grand Harbour and maritime history, the Three Cities are home to Malta’s largest fortifications and hold reams of atmosphere in their old quarters.

Mdina & Rabat
The islands’ oldest settlement is now one of the best-preserved towns in the world, set in a region that’s only second to Valletta in terms of concentration of major attractions.

Central Malta
An urban conurbation whose central focus is the Three Villages – Attard, Lija and Balzan, which have wonderful old town centres – gives way to an agricultural plain spreading out to the west.

Northwest Malta
Undulating country, a clutch of sandy beaches, and dramatic sea-cliff coast dominates this region which has a laid-back feel, and only a few historic sights in Mellieha, the north-westernmost town of Malta.

Southeast Malta
Although this region is on the tourist circuit for the best four Neolithic Temples in Malta, the towns also have atmosphere and significant historical sights – yet all are virtually overlooked by tourists expect for Marsaxlokk, the fishing port.

Gozo & Comino
The sister island is more rural and tranquil, with an attractive tapestry of charming self-contained towns scattered over an undulating landscape of flat-topped hills, terraced fields, deep valleys, and a coastline that offers dreamy vistas.
